Resolution 2003-09-16.bmh.1.mgs: Partnering with Transforming Knowledge Spaces

This resolution was adopted by the Board of Directors of SPI at their meeting of October 14, 2003.

WHEREAS,

  1. The "Transforming Knowledge Spaces: Open Technologies for Research Collaboration and Research Communication" project (henceforth referred to as "the project") at the Intellectual Property Research Institute of Australia is seeking international partners to advise and participate in the project.

  2. The project will include the development of Free Software as a central part of research.

  3. Partnership of SPI for this project allows an explicit avenue for involvement of its members and also allows for the involvement of SPI as an organization without commitment from members or from the organization.

IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED THAT,

  1. Software in the Public Interest, Inc. will join the project in an advisory and participatory role as an international partner.

  2. Benjamin 'Mako' Hill will act as advisor to the project and gather input from SPI, its members, projects and their members.
