I recently went through and found like 3 or 4 emails that went to board@ which didn't have any response that I saw. If secretary@ isn't the right role to handle that- then what is? 06:21 < tpot> OK - is it appropriate to create board tickets or make any assignations? 06:22 < Snow-Man> I don't have any issue with making tickets as appropriate. 06:22 < Snow-Man> I'm less a fan of just assigning tickets to people with the assumption that they'll realize they've been given something. 06:22 < tpot> I will work on being more responsive. 06:23 < Snow-Man> Thanks. 06:23 < schultmc> My items: 06:23 < schultmc> 1. Nominations for SPI's 2022 board election open 2022-07-01. 4 board seats 06:23 < schultmc> are up for election this year. If you are interested in running for the 06:23 < schultmc> SPI board, feel free to reach out to current board members to get 06:23 < schultmc> information about the SPI board and its director needs. 06:23 < Snow-Man> (I did respond to those, CC'd board@, and will try to continue to follow up on those threads) 06:25 < schultmc> 2. Drizzle Trademark. The Drizzle trademark is up for renewal soon. 06:25 < schultmc> Drizzle was disassociated from SPI on 2019-08-12. The disassociation 06:25 < schultmc> resolution includes: "It is SPI's good-faith intention to manage the 06:25 < schultmc> Drizzle trademark in a manner that appropriately befits the overall 06:25 < schultmc> mission of SPI." Should we continue to renew the Drizzle trademark 06:25 < schultmc> or let it expire? 06:26 < Snow-Man> Given that it's not actively in use, it probably wouldn't really be appropriate for us to try to renew it. 06:26 < zumbi> expire - without holding strong opiniono on it 06:26 < tpot> If there's een no interest in the last 3 years I agree with letting it expire 06:26 < milan> If it is not in use just let it expire. 06:26 < jconway> +1 to expire 06:26 < schultmc> Sounds reasonable - I'll mention it to Pam. 06:27 < lamby> +1 06:28 < jesusalva> Regarding Drizzle ─ What's https://trufflesuite.com/drizzle/ ? 06:29 < jesusalva> (I want to know if I'm looking at the right Drizzle or if I'm lost -.-) 06:29 < tpot> No that's someting new. 06:29 < tpot> Drizzle was a MySqL clone of some kind I beliee. 06:30 * bittin helped removing Chakra and Glucosio from the SPI Wikipedia page also think its this Drizzle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drizzle_(database_server) 06:31 < tpot> I suspect we might want to investigate if there is some kind of overlap or deliberate/accidental confusion with MySQL, but this looks new. 06:31 -!- mordred [~mordredin@2001:470:1af1:101::88c7] has joined #spi 06:31 < tpot> Still in favor of letting it expire and have another project take up the trademark if they want. 06:33 < zumbi> Also I want to add that (to the treasurer report) audit 2021 has been provided with all data they need for now, so they can start the audit this month as agreed. 06:33 < lamby> neat, thanks 06:33 < Snow-Man> I did also want to mention to everyone- SPI is very interested in having folks help us move things forward, and you don't have to be a board member to help! We have started working on a specific document of things that we need help with and ideas we have about what can be done, including- project liason (from SPI back to projects to ask them about how SPI can help them and other things), Website 06:33 < Snow-Man> design/development (we are working on moving towards a django/python stack for this which will hopefully be easier for new folks to help with), and there's more that volunteers could definitely help us out with! Of course, we also need folks on the board who can commit to making the regular meetings and handling tasks which need to be done. 06:34 < zumbi> Big thanks to Martin (tbm) and rest of SPI contractors, they doing great 06:34 < mordred> (former Drizzle core dev here) - I'm pretty sure none of us have touched anything in several years. Last I checked I needed to do work to even get it to build and I didn't have much motivation to do so. I'd be hard pressed to justify keeping a trademark around 06:35 < lamby> Thanks all. 06:35 < zumbi> Thanks mordred for input on that one 06:36 < lamby> Any other Any Other Business? :) 06:36 < schultmc> [item 9, Next board meeting] 06:36 < schultmc> The next board meeting is scheduled for: June 13, 2022 at 2000 UTC. 06:36 < schultmc> Any objections? 06:36 < lamby> wfm :) 06:36 -!- tpot changed the topic of #spi to: Next SPI board meeting is on June 13th, 2022, 20:00 UTC on #spi. Agenda: https://spi-inc.org/meetings/agendas/2022/2022-06-13/ 06:36 < zumbi> No objection 06:36 < Snow-Man> Should be good for me. 06:36 < jconway> none here 06:37 < schultmc> wfm 06:37 < schultmc> *GAVEL*
